Why Do We Put Our Bodies and Minds Through This Year After Year?
If you know the answer to that question, please let me know.
Is it because we like helping others or do we do it just for the money it generates?
I really hope that the reason we do it is because we enjoy doing it and not simply for the money because to do something you hate day in and day out is no fun. Perhaps also because we are all entrepreneurs and we do not want to work for anyone else.
NSA has been on the fast track these last couple of months in their search for a new Executive Vice President. The Search Committee has given up two weekends during tax season to travel to Alexandria for the initial review and quarter finalist interviews. I am pleased to tell you that we have three very viable candidates for the EVP position. Each is uniquely different. On March 29th, the full NSA Board will again meet in Alexandria and make the final selection. I will have full details on the individual selected in the next issue.
The 1st Annual Accounting Forum - This is a new program for NSA. The brain child of Chad Piehl and yours truly. We are having a seminar that ends each day at 1:30 p.m. so that you will be able to enjoy the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - Grand Strand. Outstanding speakers - Dr. A. J. Stagliano, Joe Santoro and Jim Dosen...all tops in their fields. Why not join us in Myrtle Beach on June 4-6. This program promises to be one of the best accounting seminars you will ever attend.
With all the IRS changes this filing season, have you run into that question you just could not find an answer for. Remember, NSA provides its members free tax research. One answer is worth the cost of the dues.
Let me tell you about a neat idea. Hats off to Steve Desdier and Mary Kuntsman. They have put together a tax research group on the Internet. Members of the group E-mail their questions to all the other members of the group. The other members respond with answers and post for all to see. It has really been interesting. Why not try this in Maryland? This is a fun way to network.
Well, the pile is not getting any shorter and I can hardly see over my desk so it's back to work.
Until next time, have a great filing season.
